Upholding the integrity of the Fourth Estate since its inception.
Welcome to Press Club, Amaravati, a hub for journalists in the heart of Andhra Pradesh's capital city. Amaravati, one of the largest greenfield cities being built in modern times, embodies immense potential, seamlessly blending tradition and modernity to create a vibrant and sustainable urban center. As journalists, we're privileged to be part of this 'History in Making'.
Through Press Club Amaravati, we aim to contribute not just as individuals but as an institution, committed to unbiased and fearless journalism. Founded in 2018 and registered as a cooperative society with registration number 516/2018, our club strives to
Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, is envisioned as a blue and green city, symbolizing the harmony between water and nature. Inspired by its picturesque location along the Krishna River and lush surroundings, the city's design embodies sustainability and reflects the Buddhist principles of living in sync with nature. As a historic Buddhist center under the Satavahanas, Amaravati was once home to the revered Amaravati Stupa.
The Press Club Amaravati logo beautifully encapsulates this concept, featuring blue and green hues, intertwined with the kalachakra - a symbol of the wheel of dharma. This thoughtful design represents the club's commitment to promoting sustainable development, cultural heritage, and journalistic excellence in the city.
"The logo was inaugurated by the eminent journalist, Padma Shri Turlapaty Kutumba Rao garu, adding a touch of distinction and prestige to the club's identity."
Press Club Amaravati was founded in 2018 by a group of like-minded journalists with a shared vision to foster cooperation, promote welfare, and advance the interests of the journalistic community. Although the club was formally registered, its activities slowed down and eventually came to a halt after 2019.
However, in 2025, a group of spirited journalists breathed new life into the club, reviving its mission and activities. As part of this revitalization, the club has launched a membership drive to welcome new members and has elected a new executive committee through a unanimous vote. This renewed energy and leadership position the Press Club Amaravati to better serve its members and promote the values of journalism in the region.
In a short span of time, Press Club Amaravati has made a significant impact through its initiatives.
One notable achievement was the successful organization of a Passport Mela in collaboration with the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Vijayawada. This event facilitated the processing of passports for over 175 journalists and their family members.
A groundbreaking initiative conducted over two months. Each day, 10 journalists and families received comprehensive health check-ups. At a nominal fee of Rs. 500, it offered best-in-class investigations, diagnostics, follow-up care, and medication.
This initiative has demonstrated the club's commitment to supporting the well-being of journalists and their families, while also showcasing its ability to deliver impactful services through strategic partnerships and planning.
