Upholding the integrity of the Fourth Estate since its inception.
Welcome to Press Club, Amaravati, a hub for journalists in the heart of Andhra Pradesh's capital city. Amaravati, one of the largest greenfield cities being built in modern times, embodies immense potential, seamlessly blending tradition and modernity to create a vibrant and sustainable urban center. As journalists, we're privileged to be part of this 'History in Making'.
Through Press Club Amaravati, we aim to contribute not just as individuals but as an institution, committed to unbiased and fearless journalism. Founded in 2018 and registered as a cooperative society with registration number 516/2018, our club strives to
When we first dreamed of bringing Press Club Amaravati to life, one of our earliest and most meaningful endeavours was crafting an identity that truly represented who we are. On the recommendation of our dear friend Amarayya, we reached out to Dr. TLN Swamy, M.F.A, Ph.D. — a talented son of Kakinada and the Creative Head at Digi Advertising in Hyderabad — a man whose artistic vision we deeply admired. Without hesitation, he embraced our cause and agreed to design our logo at minimal charges, a gesture that moved us greatly.
What he created was nothing short of inspired. He placed the iconic Amaravati Chakra at the very heart of the design — a powerful symbol of our beloved capital — and wrapped it with the Press Club's presence, standing around it like a proud and unwavering shield. When Chief Minister Chandrababu passionately described the capital as a Blue-Green City full of promise and possibility, Dr. Swamy breathed those very colours into our logo, making it a living reflection of that vision. The logo was then unveiled with great honour by the legendary senior journalist, Padma Shri Turlapati Kutumbarao — a moment we will always cherish.
As political winds shifted, so did perspectives, and our logo's colours drew their share of criticism. Rather than resist change, our new committee embraced it with open hearts and fresh eyes — and decided it was time for a bold reimagining.
This time, the torch was carried by someone very close to our hearts — Vishnupriya, the talented elder daughter of our beloved senior colleague K. Seshasai of Andhra Jyothi. A trained engineer turned passionate professional designer, Vishnupriya poured her heart, her creativity, and her precious time into this project. She presented two beautiful concepts, and from those, we chose one that resonated deeply with our spirit — refining it together with small but meaningful touches. The result is the logo you see today — not just a design, but a story told in colour and form. The passion and clarity with which she explained every colour choice, every curve, every meaning behind the design left us truly inspired and deeply grateful.
We live in a digital age, and Press Club Amaravati refused to be left behind. We believed, with every ounce of conviction, that our club deserved a strong and proud presence in the digital world. And so, despite our modest financial resources, we built our first static website — lean, purposeful, and ours. Chief Minister Chandrababu himself honoured us by inaugurating it, a moment that filled us with immense pride.
But we dared to dream bigger. Our new committee envisioned a website that truly served our members — one where new application could be submitted, fees paid, and connections made — all online, all seamlessly. The challenge was the cost. Just when we wondered how to make it happen, the answer came from within our own family.
U.Varun, the bright and driven son of our own U. Udaya Bhaskar — NTR District Bureau In-charge at Andhra Jyothi — stepped forward with confidence, skill, and a heart full of enthusiasm. A second-year B.Tech student at Newton School of Technology, this young talent took on the challenge and built, from the ground up, the dynamic website you are experiencing right now. His dedication, his late nights, his commitment to getting it just right — it all lives within every page of this site. The committee is deeply, sincerely grateful to him for this extraordinary gift of his time and talent.
This is what makes Press Club Amaravati truly special. The children of our journalist family are rising — growing into skilled, passionate professionals who are making their mark on the world. We are not just proud journalists — we are proud parents, proud mentors, and proud witnesses to the next generation stepping boldly into the spotlight. It fills our hearts with immense joy and pride to introduce these remarkable young talents to the world through our platform. This club is not just ours — it belongs to them too, and to the bright future they are building for all of us.
Press Club Amaravati was founded in 2018 by a group of like-minded journalists with a shared vision to foster cooperation, promote welfare, and advance the interests of the journalistic community. Although the club was formally registered, its activities slowed down and eventually came to a halt after 2019.
However, in 2025, a group of spirited journalists breathed new life into the club, reviving its mission and activities. As part of this revitalization, the club has launched a membership drive to welcome new members and has elected a new executive committee through a unanimous vote. This renewed energy and leadership position the Press Club Amaravati to better serve its members and promote the values of journalism in the region.
In a short span of time, Press Club Amaravati has made a significant impact through its initiatives.
One notable achievement was the successful organization of a Passport Mela in collaboration with the Regional Passport Office (RPO), Vijayawada. This event facilitated the processing of passports for over 175 journalists and their family members.
A groundbreaking initiative conducted over two months. Each day, 10 journalists and families received comprehensive health check-ups. At a nominal fee of Rs. 500, it offered best-in-class investigations, diagnostics, follow-up care, and medication.
This initiative has demonstrated the club's commitment to supporting the well-being of journalists and their families, while also showcasing its ability to deliver impactful services through strategic partnerships and planning.
